Blogging - Feedback on your progress
A blog (weblog) is a personal or group website that facilitates regular entries of commentary, graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Create an account and a profile, with a photograph, in Blogger. The photograph will help identify you when you join other blogs. (sample blog)
- Construct an instructional blog and make at least three meaningful entries. Provide a link to your blog from your website. Describe the purpose of your educational blog.
- Subscribe to the other blogs in your discipline. Provide a screen capture indicating that your colleagues have subscribed to your blog.

A blog could be used to give a summary or overview of a lecture.

ReplyDeleteI would use it by posting current events and possibly links to information about current events that are relevant to what is being taught in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteYou can use a blog in education to upload your curriculum for other teachers and to follow/read about strategies that have worked for teachers in the past.
ReplyDeleteYou can use a blog for students to track what is going on in the classroom, so that if a student misses a class they can find out what happened that day.
You can use a blog in the classroom to allow students to express their ideas about topics they learn in class. Students could look towards other students to get a better understanding of what they learned. Furthermore, as a teacher you can check the blog and make sure that your students are understanding what you are teaching.
ReplyDeleteBlogging can help students to interact with each other. As media becomes more important students should learn to use the resources available to them.
ReplyDeleteThe blog can help students understand any part of lesson they did not understand. It should be a place to communicate teacher to student.
ReplyDeleteA blog allows immediate and updated responses to questions or events in class. This allows student to track work and lecture, especially for those absent from class. Also, it can be used to instill a sense of responsibility in students who are assigned a role in adding to the class.
ReplyDeleteBlogs in the classroom can be used to share lecture notes, or to share information that could not be said or shared during class. Blogs can also be treated like a diary or journal. Students of a class and their parents can subscribe to the blog and stay up to date with what the class is doing.
